Today was a BIG day in Kindergarten!

Some kids for the very first time read a whole sentence! It was fun to hear them surprise themselves by reading.

Recognizing a b and a d is one of the best things we can do in Kindergarten. Here's how I help... The bumblebee stung Baby Barnaby, so we think of the stinger, and the stinger is first in the b.

The kids are noticing everywhere that "combination ar". Someone found it today on the Art room door. Another smartie found it in my last name. LOVE them so much for using their eyes and their perseverance in reading!

In the morning we had a fire safety assembly, and at the end of the day we had a PTO fundraiser assembly.

In between we practiced naming letters, attaching sounds to letters, and saying what is "one more than" a number.

Our focus in reading is informational stories about shapes.
