We enjoyed having Mrs. Rogers (our school social worker) in our class today. She talked about feelings and led the kids in a sort of feelings into "zones." She was amazed/pleased/loved it, because they knew so much already. And this just after a couple of short little lessons.

The colors of zones are just perfect for the kids (and adults!).

We had a couple of minutes before she came in, so we stretched and wiggled to GoNoodle.

Look at the kids working during ELA rotations!! Miss Denise and I both got to pull a small group of kids to work on whatever they need (letter names, sounds or reading words). Its a joy and felt like magic today.

After lunch we broke out the scissors and practiced cutting. Oh my, they were patient and controlled to do their best work. They made spiders (remember the informational text we've been reading this week?) and wrote this week's high frequency word (like) on it. Now the spiders hang from our ceiling. It makes the room feel fancy!

The kids practiced knowing one less, one more of a number (between 1 and 10).

Now I am so impatiently waiting for tomorrow and all the fun we will have (it's just a normal day, but I plan on having fun!!!), and I remember the joy at recess...
