Today was like a dream.

Kids are EATING up everything I give them to read, write, learn. Math not as much, but that will come.

Yesterday we learned about short i. And how to feel the difference between short e and short i. It's really hard to hear the difference, so feeling our chin move is a great way to learn.

Today I taught a directed drawing of a pig, and then we wrote about it. About half of the kids chose their own sentence. Way to be brave and try out the sounds.

We will keep working on the sounds in words all year long, so that the sounds are fluent and they are super ready for first grade. Can you believe I already said that?

We are wrapping up our study of flat and solid shapes, and yesterday the kids played a game called Kaboom in small groups. I LOVED it, and so did the kids. (Look for a game of your own in the Black Folder on Friday.)

And another birthday. Such sweet singers.

The message in the sand... (I like school.) So glad to know this!!!
