Wednesday, November 2, 2016

Remember that Wednesday that felt like a Monday? Yep, that was today. It sure was great to see the kids again today! And to hear about many of them riding their bike over the weekend.

We wasted NO time and got straight to the work of reading and writing today. A review of all our learned sounds, and then an introduction of the new sound. Lou Lou Moose has a loose tooth.

"I fell and broke my tooth." Look at that great writing!!! So many wonderful kindergarten skills: spaces between words, ending punctuation, capital at the beginning, started at the left side, and used sounds to spell unknown words. This is just an example, but very many of the kinder kids can do this! I am one proud teacher!!!

And the new high frequency word AND.

And a new fluency reading for the week.

And recess. I just LOVE watching all of the swings flying HIGH!

This domino game is about learning to play dominoes (many games of this coming up this year) and matching a number of objects with the numeral.

I love geometry in Kindergarten, because they are so good with shapes. Today we talked about 2-D and 3-D shapes.

I can hardly wait to hear more kids reading and see more kids writing and listen to kids talking about shapes tomorrow!
