Today was a magical day in Kindergarten! Seriously, things seem to be falling into place and they are becoming more independent.

We learned about "t." Timmy Tiger (sorry, forgot a picture), and I love how they are starting to really know sounds!

After recess was more time working on our reading series (practicing sounds and the sight words--the, can, I). During our "wheel" time (rotations) I am having the students go to one a day. I choose it, but within it are several choices.

A favorite is Fine Motor. So glad to have paper clips there for practicing, because we had papers to paperclip together during math.

Today I also introduced the SmartBoard as an option during Hippo time.

Math was amazing. Counting (0-13), putting numbers in order (0-5), and practice writing 0-5. They are pretty excited to get into some great math things.

At the end of the day we continued our look at the Constitution by reviewing the symbol Statue of Liberty and learning a new one--The White House. We talked about the president living and working there, and then did an art project (made our own White House) that will soon hang in the hallway.

It has been wonderful having two recesses a day, and all week they have been outside. Couldn't have asked for better weather!
